Job Description

Job Title: Porter

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $24.00

Shift: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm; Monday - Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Porter to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities, including common areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and conference rooms, all while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Porter work, with experience in both cleaning and proactive maintenance, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Cleaning

  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all facility areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, and conference rooms, meeting the highest standards of hygiene and appearance.
  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and kitchen essentials, ensuring no shortages occur.
  • Conduct inspections of facility areas to identify maintenance needs or cleanliness issues and address them promptly.
  • Respond to client requests with a customer-first mentality, providing assistance and addressing any concerns regarding facility cleanliness or functionality.
  • Order supplies and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring timely restocking and cost-effective purchasing.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Address any internal facility issues, such as leaky pipes or HVAC malfunctions, and inform management promptly for further action.
  • Support facility improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the environment.

Customer Service & Team Support

  • Maintain a customer-first mindset , ensuring that all interactions with employees, guests, and clients are professional, courteous, and efficient.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries or complaints, handling them with empathy and a focus on resolution.
  • Support team members by providing guidance and assistance in cleaning, restocking, and maintaining facilities.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and other essential materials, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Place orders for supply replenishment , managing budgets and reducing waste where possible.
  • Evaluate inventory systems , suggesting improvements to streamline processes and optimize resource usage.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure the facility complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Perform routine safety checks to detect hazards, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to implement safety improvements and promote a culture of safety.

Reporting

  • Prepare reports on cleaning, maintenance, inventory, and customer feedback to keep management informed of operations.
  • Present data professionally , offering actionable recommendations for improving the facility's cleanliness and service quality.

Training & Development

  • Engage in training to stay updated on best practices in facility maintenance, cleaning, and customer service.
  • Develop and lead training sessions for the team to improve cleaning techniques, equipment handling, and professionalism.
  • Foster a culture of learning to ensure continuous improvement and superior service delivery.

Professionalism

  • Represent the facility with professionalism, maintaining high standards in presentation and communication.
  • Serve as a role model for the team, exemplifying excellence in all aspects of cleaning, maintenance, and customer service.
